Life can bring  us challenges that cause us to feel like we have lost our balance. Therapy can be a journey to guide you back to your path or help you navigate a new one.   Being able to understand your emotions, find your strengths, enhance your self knowledge, reinforce your skills in coping with life and develop new ones can all be part of the self-growth with the guidance of a supportive therapist.

I have 26 years of experience with providing individual, family, and group therapy. I am trained in a number of techniques.   These include humanistic/client-centered, Mindfulness, and Cognitive - Behavioral therapy.  I have experience and training in working with children, adolescents, and adults- in providing individual, family, and couples counseling.    I work with grief/loss, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, adjustment and transition concerns, stress management, trauma, anger management.

Therapy gains happen within a trusting therapeutic relationship.     Being heard and receiving unconditional respect are key for offering a space for growth and healing.  You are the expert in your needs, strengths, and healing.  I'm present to help guide you in using your strengths, heal from losses, and use new tools to grow and cope with life challenges.

Elizabeth Welch, LISW-CP

We all need assistance at different times in our lives to navigate through challenging opportunities.  As a therapist I am an advocate for healing, growth and a more authentic life.  I work with adults who are dealing with loss, anxiety, depression, anger management, identity issues, trauma and those wanting a deeper more fulfilling life.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, or EMDR, is a powerful, research-based therapy technique that is very successful in helping people who suffer from trauma, anxiety, disturbing memories, post-traumatic stress and similar emotional problems.  I use EMDR and other modalities to work with adults.

I view the healing process from a holistic perspective. I see the therapist as a guide that explores with the client their innate healing capacities. The therapist is available to facilitate and help activate the inner healer. The modalities I use include EMDR, mindfulness, somatic awareness, therapeutic yoga techniques, guided self dialogue and talk therapy.
I received my Masters in Social Work from Smith College, School for Social Work. I bring my training as an RYT-200 certified yoga teacher to my practice.  In addition, I'm a Reiki Master and Ama-Deus practitioner.
